Ok, ok, ok Boyd...

Hi San Antonio. I tried to rush back to the office and update this blog before Boyd updated his blog about my progress, but he beat me by seconds. Since I don't like to brag, I'll just send you to his blog:

Personal Trainer in San Antonio Blog

Boyd, thank you for your patience and motivation and threats to kill me if I didn't eat what I was supposed to LOL LOL LOL (I'm kidding, people who don't know him). Every workout is fun and exciting and you've pushed me further and harder than I ever would on my own, and so much more than personal trainers I have used in the past. You're the best, and I feel fortunate to be a client and a friend!

Tomorrow is LEG DAY!

Gulp! My legs are still cooking from my stadium work this weekend, and I have a feeling we're going to get brutal tomorrow.

Boyd's letting me increase the calories for a week to kind of rekindle my metabolism. I already eat a ton (and keep getting leaner and leaner, losing more and more fat), but I'll definitely welcome the opportunity to add more carbs for a few days!

If you haven't checked out Boyd's new site, http://personaltrainerinsanantonio, do so now. It's absolutely loaded with information and he's adding numerous articles every single day on fat loss, body transformation and other neat stuff. His article on A-Rod and Steroids in America was absolutely classic and was better than anything I have read on the big sports sites (I'm a sports girl).

I'm going to look at new mountain bikes tomorrow, so if I get a new one, I'll throw up a pic here!

Have a great week everyone!

Boyd's New "Personal Trainer in San Antonio" Website

Hey San Antonio,

Just a quick note to check out Boyd's (other) new fitness site:
Personal Trainer in San Antonio - www.personaltrainerinsanantonio.com.

He has already updated it with several great fitness and nutrition related articles, so check it out!

I set a new milestone today: I squatted 125lbs. Ok, a little background. On October 31, I weighed 142. Today, I weigh 120, and my body composition is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

So, back to the squatting 125lbs. I didn't just squat it once, I squatted it 20 times. These weren't shallow knee bends, these were Boyd squats, aka ASS TO THE GRASS. You think weight lifting isn't anaerobic? I was gasping for air and thought I was going to throw up, but now that I've done it? I know for a fact that the best is yet to come. OMG, I never imagined I could squat my bodyweight 20 times!!!

I'm meeting a new group I have put together at the stadium tonight for our Tuesday/Thursday sprint/stairs session. I don't know what I have left, but it will be a blast!

Get PHYSICAL!

Thank God It's Friday

Hi everyone,

Things are still going amazing and I'm still amazed that I am able to make some sort of measurable progress every week, whether it's in strength (I squatted 40lbs more than my body weight last week and bench pressed my body weight as well!), fat loss (my abs are now clearly visible) or just in the way I feel (like I can take on the world).

My personal trainer is sick right now, and it's scary, because he has salmonella poisoning. He told me the last several meals he had and they sounded remarkably like what I had eaten. I haven't seen him since Wednesday, but he told me this morning that he had lost at least 15lbs in the last 2 days. Of course, that isn't the kind of weight he wants to lose. He's a fighter, he'll be fine.

I'm more and more convinced that I'm going to do a fitness/figure competition in the next several months. I was in HEB after cardio the other day, wearing a shirt that showed my stomach and a lady asked me if I was in fitness magazines. I don't know if I was able to hide my excitement or not, and I called my mother, my sister, my trainer and several other people as soon as I made it to my car to brag!

The Super Bowl is this weekend and having lived in Phoenix for several years, I am excited to see the Cardinals playing. When I lived there, there was no way that I ever thought they'd be there. I have family attachments to Pittsburgh as well, so I'm going to watch it with family and just enjoy the game.

Today is a day off of work for me, so I'm going to go do the sprint program that Boyd gave me to do. Sprints, stadium stairs, ladders, plyometrics. Lots of fun, I can't wait!

Random Fitness Thoughts

Hi San Antonio!

Had another outstanding workout today with my personal trainer. I must admit that I didn't feel as if today would be completely productive but once I got going, I felt unstoppable.

As I've told many of my friends and have mentioned it here, I'm now pursuing my personal trainer certification. Boyd says I'm an inspiration to a lot of people and that my attitude toward fitness is contagious, and honestly, I just want to share something (health) that is very dear to me. As many of you have read, Boyd is having a seminar for personal trainers to discuss the business side of the industry, and I already have my spot reserved. Trust me guys and gals, if you're interested in fitness and making a career out of it, I can't think of a better person to emulate. Boyd is a walking fitness encyclopedia and I'm excited to find out more about the inner-workings of the personal trainer business.

Wow, what about the Super Bowl match up? I'm a Cowboys fan, but I'm looking forward to watching it. It's nice to see a new team in it for a change!

I'm planning on writing my first fitness article, and I'm trying to decide if I want to discuss something training related (like weightlifting for women) or something diet related (supplementation, post-workout nutrition or carb cycling). I'll be posting it here, so check back for that.

Friday is measurement day, so I'm excited to see my actual numbers. I'm amazed at how much more I'm now capable of doing during a session and how I look when I see myself getting out of the shower ;) - it's such a rewarding feeling!

I have to get back to work, but I'm going to write more this week. Oh yes: hey Boyd, what am I supposed to do without my legs? :)

San Antonio Fitness Boot Camp - WOW.

Hi guys,

Yesterday, my personal trainer, Boyd Myers gave me and 3 of my co-workers a sample of his fitness boot camp, and I must say "HOLY _____!" What a workout! It was nonstop and intense, but nothing that is un-doable.

If you're looking for an excellent motivator and an intense workout, he's starting it everyday on Monday (5:30am and 4pm) - check out San Antonio Fitness Boot Camp for more information!

Have a great weekend!

San Antonio Personal Trainer Blog - Check it out!

Hey guys,

I've been reading my personal trainer's blog all day, and wanted to recommend it to all of you, as he has a lot of awesome information that he has added over the last few days including his Personal Trainer Coaching Seminar and information about their San Antonio Fitness Boot Camps.

Check out the blog here: San Antonio Personal Trainer Blog

Oh, and I don't know who has tried this, but Boyd recommeded it to me today and it is AWESOME. Take 1 tub of low fat (or fat free) cottage cheese, 10 strawberries and 8-10 packets of Splenda and blend it. You may need to stir it and blend it, but blend it until it is smooth and well mixed. Put it in a small container with a lid and refrigerate. Voila! It's HEALTHY cheesecake! It tastes AMAZING and is an easy snack to alleviate that sweet-tooth. A tub of cottage cheese has roughly 50g of protein, so it should last for 2-3 snacks! Thanks, Boyd!
